Everest View Trek - 5 Days

The journey begins with a scheduled flight to Lukla, the traditional gateway to the Everest region. From there, the trail follows the Dudh Koshi Valley through mountain settlements, cultivated hillsides, forests, prayer wheels and suspension bridges. After an overnight stay in Phakding, the route enters Sagarmatha National Park and climbs steadily to Namche Bazaar, the principal trading centre and trekking hub of the Khumbu.

Two nights in Namche allow time to explore the town and hike higher without carrying your main luggage. The main excursion leads through Syangboche to Hotel Everest View, one of the best-known viewpoints above Namche Bazaar. On a clear day, the ridge offers panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kongde. The hike can continue to Khumjung, a traditional Sherpa village known for its stone houses, monastery and close connection with the mountaineering history of the region.

Although this Hotel Everest View trek is much shorter than the journey to Everest Base Camp, it should not be considered an easy sightseeing holiday. The climb from Phakding to Namche is steep, and the return from Namche to Lukla is a long walking day over an undulating trail. The itinerary is best suited to healthy travelers with reasonable fitness who are comfortable walking for several hours in mountain terrain. Fit first-time trekkers can complete the route with suitable preparation and a steady pace.

The package includes scheduled Lukla flights, trekking permits, teahouse accommodation, meals during the trek, a licensed local guide and porter support based on the group size. The highest point is reached during the Hotel Everest View and Khumjung excursion, while both nights are spent lower in Namche Bazaar at approximately 3,440 metres.

One day before departure, HimalayanWindows arranges a pre-trip briefing at our office or your hotel. During the meeting, we review the route, weather, equipment and flight arrangements and introduce you to your guide. Kathmandu accommodation, sightseeing and international airport transfers are not automatically included in the five-day trek but can be arranged on request.

Because flights to and from Lukla depend heavily on weather and visibility, we strongly recommend keeping at least one additional day in Kathmandu after the trek. With proper preparation and realistic expectations, the Everest View Trek provides an excellent short introduction to Namche Bazaar, Sherpa culture and the mountain landscapes of the Everest region.
