Lhasa - The Spiritual Heart of Tibet: Your journey begins in Lhasa, the cultural and spiritual heart of Tibet. You will visit the beautiful Potala Palace, the sacred Jokhang Temple and Barkhor, a busy town with pilgrims and local people. Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery provide us an overview of Tibetan Buddhism, history, art, and monastic traditions.
Yamdrok Lake– Sacred Himalayan Scenery: Travelling from Lhasa through long mountain passes toward Yamdrok Lake (Yamdrotso), one of the most beautiful and sacred lakes in Tibet. With snow-covered mountains, turquoise waters, open valleys and wide open valleys, Yamdrok Lake is one of the most beautiful places on the Tibetan overland tour and offers great places for photography.
Gyantse - Historical Tibetan heritage: Gyantse is one of the classic towns in the traditional Tibetan community as well as the Kumbum Stupa and Pelkor Chode Monastery. The city is one of the best places to travel in Tibetan culture and Buddhist architecture as well as to go from Lhasa to the remote Himalayan places in the future.
Shigatse - Tibetan Buddhist Centre: We continue on to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet and the centre of Tibetan Buddhism. Here the city's rich religious history will be witnessed before moving to Everest Base Camp on the land. Shigatse is also one of the most important points along the Lhasa to Everest Base Camp overland.
Tibetan Plateau— Journey to Everest: The landscape becomes more and more remote and dramatic beyond Shigatse. Travel across the great Tibetan Plateau, crossing high mountain passes, barren valleys, traditional settlements, and snow-covered Himalayan peaks. The change in the terrain makes the overland journey itself the most interesting part of this 8-day trip to Tibet and the place is very amazing.
Rongbuk Monastery & Everest Base Camp Tibet: The ultimate highlight is Rongbuk Monastery at around 5,000 metres near the northern face of Mount Everest. From the Everest Base Camp Tibet area, weather permitting, you’ll see Mount Everest (8,848.86m). Rongbuk’s unique location beneath Everest makes it one of the most memorable stops on the Lhasa Everest Base Camp Tour.

Welcome to Tibet! Upon arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Railway Station, you will be welcomed by your local Tibetan guide and transferred to your hotel in Lhasa.
Lhasa is at around 3,650 metres, so this first day is kept easy so the body can begin to adjust to the high altitude. Take time to rest, drink lots of water, and relax that night.
There is no scheduled sightseeing today, so you can start your Lhasa Tibet tour comfortably.

Today, begin exploring the cultural and spiritual heart of Tibet.
Your first visit is to the magnificent Potala Palace, one of the most recognizable landmarks in Tibet and an extraordinary example of Tibetan architecture. The palace rises dramatically above Lhasa and offers impressive views over the city.
Continue to Jokhang Temple, one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in Tibetan Buddhism. From here, step down to Barkhor Street and follow the traditional kora route, where local shops sell Tibetan handicrafts, religious items and souvenirs.
This is a major acclimatization day, and it is a very special day to see the atmosphere of Lhasa.

We will continue your exploration of Lhasa through visits to two of Tibet's most important monastic institutions.
In the morning, visit Drepung Monastery, one of the great Gelug monasteries of Tibet. Its whitewashed buildings spread across the hillside overlooking Lhasa.
Later, visit Sera Monastery, famous for its traditional Buddhist philosophical debates. If your visit coincides with a debate session, you can observe monks engaging in lively discussions using gestures and hand-clapping as part of the debate tradition.
I can relax in the afternoon and explore Lhasa at my own pace.

Today you start your scenic Tibet overland journey to Everest Base Camp.
Leaving Lhasa and driving across the Tibetan Plateau towards Gyantse. The route passes high mountain passes and has a beautiful view of the turquoise Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s most beautiful and sacred lakes. You will also encounter dramatic mountain scenery and glaciers along the way.
Continue to Gyantse, a historic Tibetan town. Depending on the road and sightseeing schedule, visit Pelkor Chode Monastery and the famous Kumbum Stupa, an important example of Tibetan Buddhist art and architecture.
Continue to Shigatse, the second biggest city of Tibet and a key centre of Tibetan Buddhism.

Today is the most anticipated day of your Lhasa Everest Base Camp Tibet Tour.
After breakfast, leave Shigatse and drive west through the remote landscapes of the Tibetan Plateau to the Everest region. The landscape becomes increasingly dramatic, with high mountain passes, barren valleys and spectacular Himalayan peaks.
Continue towards Rongbuk Monastery, situated near the northern face of Mount Everest. Rongbuk is one of the highest monasteries in the world and is renowned for its exceptional views of Everest.
From the Rongbuk and Everest Base Camp area, enjoy the magnificent panorama of Mount Everest's north face. Weather permitting, sunset over Everest can be an unforgettable experience.
Overnight: Tent house/guesthouse in the Rongbuk area.
Accommodation upgrade option: The accommodation around Rongbuk is basic. If you prefer a more comfortable place to stay, we suggest staying in Tashizong/Tashidong. The next morning, you can take the local shuttle bus to the Everest Base Camp viewpoint, spend time enjoying the views of Everest, and return to Tashizong to continue onwards.

Wake early for the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular morning scenery of Mount Everest. If weather conditions are clear, the early morning light can provide magnificent views of the mountain's north face.
Travel by shuttle bus toward the Everest Base Camp viewpoint and spend time appreciating the incredible Himalayan landscape. The Tibet side of Everest is particularly appealing because the northern base camp area can be reached by road rather than requiring the long trek associated with the Nepal side.
After your Everest experience, begin the return journey across the Tibetan Plateau toward Shigatse.

NoteContinue to Nepal: If you plan to travel to Nepal, continue to Kyirong Border (330km) instead of returning to Lhasa. The next day, cross into Nepal and drive about 150 km (7–8 hours) to Kathmandu, subject to border and road conditions.
After breakfast, start your scenic drive from Shigatse back to Lhasa.
As you travel across the Tibetan Plateau, enjoy the changing landscapes and mountain scenery. Upon arrival in Lhasa, check into your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
You can use your last evening to walk around Barkhor, buy Tibetan handicrafts or simply relax after your Lhasa to Everest Base Camp overland tour.

A clear split between what we arrange and what you budget yourself.
- Private transportation: Touring with a professional driver for the tour (private vehicle that will be arranged for the size of your group). The vehicle will be suitable for the road and number of travelers.
- English-speaking Tibetan guide: Your guide will be an experienced English-speaking Tibetan guide who will accompany you throughout the tour to learn about Tibetan culture, history, Buddhism, monasteries, and local customs and traditions.
- Hotel accommodation: Hotel accommodation in twin-sharing throughout the itinerary. Most accommodation in the Rongbuk/Everest Base Camp area is a basic guesthouse or tent-house facility because of the remote location and high altitude nature of the region.
- Daily breakfast: Daily breakfast is included at the hotels during the tour. The meals at the basic accommodation and tent houses may be limited depending on availability.
- Entrance fees for monasteries and major sightseeing places to be visited will be provided in the itinerary.
- The required Tibet Travel Permit for your travel is arranged by the company. If any other permits are required for more specific places, we will inform and arrange according to current regulations.
- Everest Base Camp area: Travel arrangements for visiting the Everest Base Camp area (including the local shuttle bus when required) are in the itinerary.
- Lunch & dinner: Lunch and dinner are not included, allowing you to tailor your meals to your preference and budget.
- International & domestic airfare: The flights or train tickets to and from Tibet (including flights from mainland China to Lhasa or onward flights after the trip) are not included.
- China Visa / Tibet Group Visa: Visa costs and processing fees are not included unless specified in the booking. Travelers entering Tibet from Kathmandu, Nepal will need the China Group Visa.
- Travel insurance: Comprehensive travel insurance, including medical treatment, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and baggage coverage, is not included. We recommend that you obtain suitable insurance before departure.
- Personal expenses: Expenses such as bottled drinks, beverages, laundry, telephone calls, Wi-Fi, shopping, souvenirs, and other personal purchases are excluded.
- Tips & Gratuities: Tips for your Tibetan guide, driver, hotel staff, and other service providers are not included.
- Unforeseen expenses: Any additional costs caused by natural disasters, severe weather, road closures, political disturbances, border closures, flight or train cancellations, or other circumstances beyond our control are not included.
