Note(If you do not have a China Tourist Visa, we may need to add one more day!): Depending on your arrival time, we apply for the Tibet Group Visa (TGV) the same day or the next day as we need at least 3 working days to prepare the TGV at the Embassy of the Republic of China in Kathmandu.

After breakfast at the hotel, we take you to Patan Durbar Square to explore Patan Durbars, Mahaboudha, Krishna Temple, Kumbeshwor Temple, Golden Temple, etc. You feel like Patan has been exposed before you as an open museum presenting stunning carved windows, intrinsic roof struts, statues of gods and goddesses, temples designed in Pagoda Style with erotic carvings and metalwork faces, and many other beautiful facets. Additionally, you will also get to see the handicraft center in Patan. And proceed to Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a home of unique culture and the finest display of craftsmanship. It is said that Bhaktapur only place in Nepal which is remained untouched by Western Culture. Golden Gate, Lion Gate, Art Gallery, Nyatapola Temple, Statue of King Bhupindra, and fifty-five windowed Malla Palace are the points of pride of Bhaktapur. And drive back to the hotel.

Early in the morning, drive to the TIA airport and take a Himalayan flight to Lhasa. It is about an hour's flight, and our guide will be waiting for you at the Gonggar Airport; you will be picked up and dropped off at the hotel.

After breakfast, you will proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. Potala Palace: This legendary palace, built atop a single hill, is synonymous with Tibet by the first king, Songtsen Gompa. Jokhang Temple: Situated in the heart of Old Lhasa, it houses Tibet’s most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha, which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo. After Sightseeing, you will be transferred to a hotel.

After breakfast, full-day sightseeing tour of Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, and Barkhor Market. Sera Monastery: 5 Km north of Lhasa, Sera Monastery is one of Lhasa’s prettiest monasteries. Once a community of more than 5,000 monks resided here, but it was virtually extinguished by the Chinese. Drepung Monastery: On the slope of the Wuze Hill in Genbei, five kilometers northwest of Lhasa, the Drepung monastery was built in 1416 and is the largest of the monasteries of the Gelug Sect. Barkhor Market (Bazaar); the best-preserved street in Lhasa, Barkhor Street surrounds the Jokhang Monastery. Some free time for shopping or your own activities.

During the flight, on a clear day, you can see magnificent views of the Himalayan Mountains, including the sacred Jumolhari and Jichu Drake Peaks in Bhutan. On arrival, you will be received by our guide and driver and transferred to your hotel in Thimphu. If time permits in the afternoon, you can visit the following places: -Kyichu Lhakhang -Paro Dzong In the evening, you can drive to the capital town of Thimphu.

There are so many places to see in the capital, which has a very peaceful, laid-back feel about it. Thimphu is a moderately small city with a population of approximately 80000 people, and the streets are wide and tree-lined. You will almost surely visit the Late King's Memorial Chorten, the National Library, Drubthob Nunnery, Folk Heritage Museum, the handmade paper factory, the school of arts and crafts where young students learn the traditional arts and crafts (Zo Rig Chusum – the thirteen crafts), Gold and the Silver Smiths workshop, Zangtopelri Lhakhang, and the Handicraft Emporium and the local handicraft centers to see the weavers at work and also varieties of textiles, Thangkha paintings, masks, jewelry, etc. In the afternoon, you can also visit Thimpu Dzong, which is the administrative headquarters of Bhutan. Late afternoon drive to Paro for overnight stay.

After breakfast, hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, which is Bhutan’s most famous monastery. It is perched on the edge of a cliff, about 900 meters above Paro Valley. The hike to reach the viewpoint of the monastery makes for a nice half-day excursion. After lunch, you can visit other important sites which you could not complete on previous days. After lunch, a tour of Bhutan's national museum, a fascinating place housed in an old watchtower above the huge Paro Dzong (monastery/fortress). The museum holds a fantastic collection of Bhutanese national treasures ranging from ancient armor to textiles and thangka paintings. Then, we drive to the head of the valley and visit Drukgyel Dzong, built in a location that was chosen for its control over the route to Tibet. An amazing view of Mount Jumolhari (23,996ft /7314m) can be seen from here. Also, visit Rinpung Dzong, a typical Bhutanese farmhouse.

My wife and I have just completed a 19 day 3 country tour which was organized by Himalayan Windows Tours Kathmandu. We have been traveling internationally for over 40 years and I must say that the service provided by Himalayan Windows is second to none. Anup, the owner of the company personally took charge to adapt their standard tour to meet our interests and time the tour to allow us to attend not one but two festivals in Bhutan. On such a long tour you can expect there might be some hiccups and need to fine-tune travel arrangements. Anup was in constant contact and responded immediately to any and all changes that needed to be made. 3 Country Tour - Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan
Hassle-free is the word. If you plan to visit these countries? Anup at Himalayan Windows is the guy you need to see. Almost a year of planning and he was on top of things every single time. Any questions? He answers. Any suggestions? He answers. Better yet? You don’t need to plan anything. Have him plan it for you! He even booked us a fine dining restaurant in which my wife was really surprised! Thanks for that one, sir! Our only interest was Bhutan and they offer everything including visas. Then, he was kind enough to suggest Tibet and we were like, why not? Since it’s a neighboring country and we haven’t visited it either. We ended up booking the 3 Country tour. Including Nepal yes! Nepal was very entertaining and with our very educated guide Anish! He knew his stuff. Smiling fella! Minus the rain coz we missed our helicopter ride to see up close and personal the all-mighty Mt Everest. But don’t get me wrong. Even if Anup knew that our helicopter ride would be canceled he still showed up, at 6 am! He kept trying and calling constantly if there could be any possibility that we could do the tour but sadly no. That is customer service at its finest. Haven’t encountered such customer service like his. 5 stars on that! Tibet was something else. Altitude sickness yes but we managed. Karma our guide was very accommodating and will give us time to wander around on our own. Knows how to manage time especially visiting the Potala Palace. When he said he’ll meet us at 7 am. He was at the hotel right on the dot. Talk about punctuality! Bhutan was magical! The moment when you land. Everything is just a breeze. Even immigration was very friendly! I have no complaints! Sangay our guide was great! We felt like we weren’t tourists. More like friends. He explained everything perfectly. He even told us to roll down our windows coz of the fresh air. The hike to Tiger’s Nest is no joke but Sangay was there all the way. We have no negative feedback the whole time we were there in the kingdom of Bhutan. A must place to visit! Our only concern was the breakfast at Shambhala Palace in Tibet. To us, it was a cool experience to have Tibetan breakfast such as the tsampa but to the others, they might not be able to enjoy it. Fewer choices of food but that didn’t bother us. Eggs, toast coffee, and tea. No continental breakfast here but we were happy about it. The hotel is nice though! Loving the touch of every piece of furniture they have. Hi-tech shower! When we had dinner they have to fetch it from the other hotel coz the cook wasn’t there anymore. They didn’t say the kitchen is closed. They still provide. We were shocked! We felt bad for the guy delivering the food to us but we gave him a decent tip. Wish we knew all their names coz they were all very nice to us from the beginning when we arrived greeted with a smile and the day we left. The security guard even gave us bottled water on the way back to Nepal. We will surely miss those hardworking folks over there! Keep smiling! One word. Anup will do anything to make your trip a memorable one coz ours was. Even side trips such as having breakfast and having us tried all the dishes or snacks that we wanted to try! Also, even if we were at other Countries he keeps in touch thru WhatsApp just to make sure everything was still in order. He even kept on checking the helicopter ride when we were away!
